ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Focus and scope

The journal Estudios de la Gestión is an academic publication of the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Ecuador Campus, and its Management Academic Area. It accepts research articles within the field of management and administration written in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. The journal has been published continuously since 2017, with a semi-annual frequency, and is released in January and July with sixteen articles per year. Estudios de la Gestión is a space for research and reflection on investigative advances in the field of applied social science management studies and administrative science, in the private sector, public institutions, third sector organizations, and any other form of organizational space created by humans to facilitate coexistence in society.

Estudios de la Gestión follows an external anonymous peer-review process (double-blind peer review) according to the international arbitration standards of scientific journals, the process of which is described in section 3 of this document, corresponding to the editorial process. The participation of authors and reviewers external to the publishing entities is prioritized.

The journal is published in Spanish in two versions: print (ISSN: 2550-6641) and electronic (e-ISSN: 2661-6513), and uses the OJS 3.x platform. Additionally, the interface and metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, and JEL code, are available in English and Portuguese. Each research article is identified with a DOI.

    Citation and Reference Standards

How to cite: The citations and references of the article must follow the provisions of the Chicago Deusto Style Manual, author-date subsystem with the authors' scientific names.

References: Bibliographic citations should be referenced in the form of text references. Uncited bibliography should not be included in the text. Their number must be sufficient and necessary to contextualize the theoretical framework (an average of 30 references in total is recommended, not per author, taking care not to exceed a maximum of three references from the same author), the methodology used, and the research results in an international research space. They will be presented alphabetically by the first author's last name (adding the second only if the first is very common and joined with a hyphen).

Citations should be extracted from the original documents – preferably journals and, to a lesser extent, books – always indicating the initial and final page of the work from which they originate, except for complete works.

Given the importance for citation indexes and impact factor calculations, correct citation of national and international authors in indexed journals will be valued, following the Chicago Deusto Style Manual.
