The confluence of various cultures in a single context has caused the emergence of new forms of cultural expression, where their dances, music, food, clothing, etc. are accepted, shared and enjoyed. Being a product of this cultural syncretism the Chicha or also called the Peruvian Andean cumbia, where the actors are migrants or children of migrants mostly from the highlands and jungle of Peru. The present work is approached from its historical development with emphasis on the social-musical and its musical analysis taking into consideration the rhythmic part; rhythmic-melodic, instrumentation and vocal interpretation. For this purpose, we framed ourselves from the qualitative methodological approach with a descriptive phenomenological design. The most relevant results of the research are that the chicha is influenced by the huayno from central Peru and the cumbia from Colombia. Concluding that the Peruvian Andean cumbia has the presence of Andean musical elements in its melodic lines, by means of the major and minor pentatonic scales and that it is a product of cultural syncretism.
