Abstract

CATAGUA VASQUEZ, Johanna  and  CEVALLOS CEDENO, Ángela María. The academic use of social networks: methodological strategies of application in the classroom. ReHuSo [online]. 2019, vol.4, n.3, pp.32-42.  Epub Dec 30, 2019. ISSN 2550-6587.  https://doi.org/10.33936/rehuso.v4i3.2366.

The use of social networks in educational institutions has facilitated communication and collaborative learning, introducing new forms of work among actors in the training processes. This study is being carried out at the Ángel Arteaga Cañarte School of Basic Education in the canton of Santa Ana, province of Manabí, and is aimed at the teachers of this institution. The students, being so familiar with them, feel more comfortable and less obliged to have a closer relationship with their teachers and besides, everything will flow more naturally. But not only do they serve the teacher-pupil relationship in the same school, but they are basic to communicating with subject matter experts or students from other schools, enabling students to develop skills and aptitudes such as socialization, teamwork or sharing with other peers. This text will investigate, among other aspects, methodological strategies that teachers can do for the correct use of social networks in the academic field. In addition to this, social networks are considered to be the perfect tools for the flow of communication between students and teachers.
