ESCOBAR, Susana  y  AGUILAR, Manuel. Artivism in the digital culture. Two cases in Mexico: #IlustradoresConAyotzinapaand#No estamos todas. Índex [online]. 2019, n.8, pp.142-150. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i08.273.

Art and social movements have been closely linked to consolidate as visual forms of the so-called artivism: known as political art or compromised art. In the last decades and with the social media, these art forms have been conceived for digital environments, thus building a digital culture in rebellion within social movements. As an example, we turn to two cases in Mexico: #IlustradoresConAyotzinapaand#No estamostodas. The objectives of this work are oriented to: describe, conceptualize and characterize artivism as part of social movements. Understand the role that art plays on digital platforms as forms of activism. For them we resort methodologically to the visual analysis of two digital platforms of the referred movements. We describe its function, forms of operation, protagonists and impact on the conformation of the digital culture of social movements.

Palabras clave : social media; social movements; digital culture, image; digital activism, cyberculture.
