FIGUEROA PEREZ, José Antonio. Adrián Balseca´s Horámen and the neocolonial dispossession in la Tolita, Esmeraldas. Índex [online]. 2018, n.5, pp.102-111. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i04.99.

This paper analyzes the work Horamen of the Ecuadorian artist Adrián Balseca, which summarizes the plundering of the island of Tolita, Esmeraldas, one of the most important archeological patrimonies in Latin America. The article shows how dispossession plays a crucial role on the organization of work and society in a region which has been heavily subjected to colonial experience, mainly for racial reasons.
