CAICEDO MOLINA, Gema Melissa and CALLE GARCIA, Robertson Xavier. Reading practices in the school library: a perspective of user training from critical pedagogy. ReHuSo [online]. 2019, vol.4, n.1, pp.149-161. Epub Apr 30, 2019. ISSN 2550-6587. https://doi.org/10.33936/rehuso.v4i1.2123.
Reading practices are encouraged at all levels and areas, school libraries occupy a prominent place for the development of these habits, it is a fundamental task that these spaces consider their role in the educational context. The training of users is oriented to the development of competences to understand the range of texts, access the information and process it by choosing the one that is most useful, in this research the students of the Unidad Educativa del Milenio Olmedo, of the city of Portoviejo, through the applied surveys expressed that they visit the library more than 2 times a week, to perform tasks sent by the teachers, aware of the importance of reading to improve the reading habit; Based on the realization of critical pedagogy, it was proposed that the student reflect on various factors that lead him to address certain contents and not others, the incidents that the texts he seeks in learning have and in the correct way in which he should develop the process. In the case of the school library, its great role is to establish links between students and written materials, bring them closer to the world of books and documents, so that they consider this space as a source of knowledge, become regular visitors, readers frequent and your visits are becoming more frequent. From the perspective of critical pedagogy, the way in which students are aware and question the way in which they build their knowledge is considered.
