Peer Review Process

Peer Review Deadlines

All articles received by the journal Letras Verdes follow a thorough review process. First, there is a verification process to determine if authors comply with publication norms, after which the articles is considered as “received”. In case of not complying with publication norms, authors will be notified the article was ‘not received’ and the editorial process will be interrupted.

Then each article is sent (anonymously) to two peer reviewers, external to the publishing institution and the country, from which their opinion is considered by the Editorial Council of the journal to decide if the article can be “published”, “published with minor changes”, “modified to be reevaluated”, or “rejected”. This process can take up to four months. If the article is accepted, an editing process will begin that can take approximately two months. The Editorial Board of the journal, after sending the feedback, will analyse the relevance or not of the incorporation made by the authors, following the suggestions of the reviewers. The Editorial board is responsible for the latest edition filter to conserve quality standards.
