GALLEGOS-MONTERO, Ruth I.  y  SAMUDIO GRANADOS, Marcela. Biographical narratives: making employment discrimination based on sexual orientation visible. Estudios de la Gestión [online]. 2025, n.17, pp.49-68. ISSN 2661-6513.  https://doi.org/10.32719/25506641.2025.17.3.

This study investigates employment discrimination against homosexuals and the impact of gender norms on their well-being. The methodology is qualitative with a constructivist approach, using the biographical-narrative method and an exhaustive literature review to analyze the narratives of a homosexual individual contrasting with the experience of an Organizational Psychologist. The literature review indicated that, despite theoretical advances and laws, employment discrimination persists: heteronormativity and gender norms influence job selection and promotion, perpetuating discriminatory attitudes. Previous studies document harassment, invisibilization and exclusion, negatively affecting emotional and professional well-being. The personal experience, memories, experiences and feelings of the subject were explored in the narrative interview, revealing the pressure to conform to heteronormative norms and their negative effects on individual well-being. The results highlight the constant resistance of the heteronormative discourse despite initiatives for diversity at work. The relevance of making subjective experiences visible in order to strengthen equality policies and foster inclusive work environments that respect fundamental rights is highlighted. Likewise, the narrative biographical method consists of an innovative methodology that gives voice to discrimination from the subject.
