The essay explores the concept of “emotional atmospheres” as a way of inhabiting space and time through phenomenological sensory experiences. It addresses how art and the ecologies of nature can motivate us to perceive that which usually escapes our sight. A key example is the work of spiders, and how, from their space, they can allow us to connect with the material, the sound, and the experiential. To do so, a work by the Argentine artist Tomás Saraceno, Cómo atrapar el universo en una telaraña (2018), is analyzed. Where he allows us to listen to compositions by his weaving friends, through the cooperative universes trapped in the web, which seem invisible, but which we can enter through a sensitive and experiential feeling. In addition, the reflection is linked to understanding the spider web as “intelligent matter” that contains its own technology and has endured over time. From this perspective, it is proposed to imagine near futures, taking as a reference, habitats, which can offer us ecological and sustainable solutions, to listen to the world..
