The purpose of this article is to analyze the cultural effects generated by technological information access systems, in the construction of social imaginaries, as well as in the development of practices of meaning in contemporaneity. Specifically, it is of interest for this study to decipher and reflect on how distribution and consumption processes of screen generated images allow the configuration of symbolic and control schemes, within this virtual sphere of interconnection. In essence, this research is carried out by understanding that, nowadays, these resources allow not only to direct the gaze, but, in a significant way, maintain a direct influence on the configuration of the individual and collective ethos.
