GAS BARRACHINA, Silvia. VOCES OLVIDADAS: ESTRATEGIAS MICROPOLÍTICAS EN CONTEXTOS DE CONFLICTO DESDE LA MEMORIA DE LAS MUJERES EN EL VIDEOARTE. Índex [online]. 2024, n.18, pp.104-124. ISSN 2477-9199. https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v10i18.610.
In the current context, the constant and relentless exposure to violent images framed within conflict situations, through media and social networks, has led to indifference among those who observe them. However, artistic language offers an alternative, communicating through suggestive approaches that help the spread of critical thinking. The following examines video artworks in which artists, from a committed stance, challenge the hegemonic codes of audiovisual representation, producing alternative proposals to the official images of conflict contexts, such as the Spanish Civil War and the Process of Reorganization in Argentina. From a gender perspective, the representation of the female figure in both scenarios is examined. The findings emphasize the importance of reclaiming the voices of women who have traditionally been silenced, revealing critical images of historical events deeply rooted in memory through testimonial, self-referential, and poetic strategies.
