This study presented a systematic review of the literature on CNC technology integration in the context of Industry 4.0, assessing its impact on modern manufacturing. A search was conducted in academic databases, followed by an analysis and synthesis of the information collected. The methodology included the application of the Kitchenham method for systematic review, complemented by a case study in an Ecuadorian company and a survey of professionals in the sector. The review identified the main benefits, challenges and future trends of this technological integration. It was concluded that CNC-Industry 4.0 convergence offers significant potential to improve efficiency, flexibility and quality in manufacturing, although organizational and technical challenges remain. The review also revealed promising areas for future research, including integration with additive manufacturing and the application of artificial intelligence in CNC processes.
