Currently, the implementation of vegetable oils in different industries has grown exponentially and has a great impact on the cosmetic area. The design of a cream could provide skin improvement and attract new markets. Over time, the skin loses nutrients, trace elements, collagen and hyaluronic acid, causing dehydration problems. The oils of the three Amazonian native plants Oenocarpus bataua Mart, Mauritia flexuosa L.f. y Fevillea cordifolia L. possess active ingredients with antioxidant properties that can benefit the skin in aspects of rejuvenation, luminosity and extensibility. The objective of this study was to develop a moisturizing and nourishing cosmetic cream based on essential and fixed vegetable oils from Oenocarpus bataua, Mauritia flexuosa, and Fevillea cordifolia, using a formulation optimization process that guarantees the absence of synthetic compounds and complies with cosmetic quality standards. Fourteen formulations were developed using Design Expert software. The cream was designed using a Simplex Lattice Design mixture design. The hedonic scale was applied for sensory analysis. The quadratic mathematical mixing model was optimal with a difference of less than 0.2 between the R2-fit and predicted having adequate accuracy. The best formulation was number 7 (15 g cocoa butter, 7.5 g M. flexuosa oil and 7.5 g O. bataua, 0.3 g essential oil, 65.3 g water, 3.4 g montanov 202 and 1g montanov 68) with a pH of 6.53 and as response variables the viscosity of 4275 mPa.s, and the extensibility of 7 cm2, which had greater acceptance by the participants. This cosmetic cream can generate a new market in agroindustrial products that benefit the producing communities of the Ecuadorian Amazon Region.
