RONCEROS, Cristhian et al. Advanced Supervision and Control System for Optimizing Crude Oil Storage and Transportation Operations. Rev Politéc. (Quito) [online]. 2025, vol.56, n.2, pp.7-18. ISSN 2477-8990. https://doi.org/10.33333/rp.vol56n2.01.
With the purpose of achieving the development and consolidation of the oil industry, the use of supervision and control systems is presented as a highly potential solution in terms of the implementation of any tool that allows automating processes, thus obtaining a reduction in response times, minimizing the investment of man hours, normalizing and standardizing processes, and complying with the maintenance of functions and operational activities. In this sense, this research focused on the development of a proposal to automate the outlet manifold of a crude oil storage and transportation center. The objective was to optimize the pumping of crude oil, providing sufficient pressure to ensure the delivery of crude oil from the storage center to storage and shipping terminals and thus meet the planned production goals, in the volumes, time, and quality required by the clients. The phases of visualization, conceptualization, and definition of the Capital Investment Project Management Guide were developed. The proposed control and monitoring system for the outlet manifold will use control logic and infrastructure to automatically control suction pressure, discharge pressure, and differential pressure in the pumps and main pipes, a process that regulates the flow of crude oil to storage centers
