Se analiza la variación porcentual de resistencia a la compresión, tensión, flexión, aislamiento térmico, densidad y absorción de agua acorde al tipo de refuerzo y mortero base. La incorporación de cemento como refuerzo parece tener el mayor efecto en la mejora de desempeño por resistencia a la compresión, los plásticos al aislamiento térmico, densidad y absorción de agua y los vegetales en resistencia a la tensión.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The objective of this work is to carry out a comparative analysis of researches related to the determination of physical-mechanical properties of construction units (adobe and bricks) made of soil, soil-cement, and concrete with various reinforcements, to provide an overview of procedures that could lead to the improvement of the performance of these construction units. The percentage variation of compressive, tensile, flexural strength, thermal insulation, density, and water absorption according to the type of reinforcement and base mortar is analyzed. The incorporation of cement as reinforcement seems to have the greatest effect on improving the compressive strength, plastics on thermal insulation, density, and water absorption, and vegetables on tensile strength.]]></p></abstract>
