Su importancia radicó en profundizar las técnicas de identificación humana, la aplicación y vinculación con la práctica será de gran interés puesto que se basa en proporcionar conocimientos valiosos que contribuyen a la odontología forense. La investigación fue de tipo descriptivo-relacional de corte transversal. Los resultados basados en el análisis del patrón labial y el género en los estudiantes se apreció asociación en los patrones labial superior derecho e izquierdo con mayor predominio el tipo III y tipo II y en los patrones labial inferior derecho e izquierdo mayor predominio el tipo II y III. Se concluye que la clasificación de los cuadrantes de la técnica queiloscópica de Tsuchihashi -Suzuki permite un estudio veraz en cuanto a la relación entre las impresiones labiales y el género.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The present study aimed to determine the relationship between lip impressions and gender by means of the Tsuchihashi-Suzuki cheiloscopic technique in first and second cycle students of the School of Dentistry of the Norbert Wiener University-2019-II. The importance lies in deepening the techniques of human identification, the application and linkage with practice will be of great interest since it is based on providing valuable knowledge that contributes to forensic dentistry. The research was of a descriptive-relational cross-sectional type. The results based on the analysis of the labial pattern and gender in the students show an association in the upper right and left labial patterns with a greater predominance of type III and type II and in the lower right and left labial patterns with a greater predominance of type II and III. It is concluded that the classification of the quadrants of the Tsuchihashi-Suzuki cheiloscopic technique allows an accurate study of the relationship between lip impressions and gender.]]></p></abstract>
