<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2528-79072021000100032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2528-79072021000100032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2528-79072021000100032&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen La utilización indiscriminada de plaguicidas ha causado la aparición de enfermedades y dolencias por la influencia que estos han tenido en el organismo humano, por lo que existen varios proyectos de investigación en los que relacionan el uso de plaguicidas con el aumento en los niveles de TSH e incrementando las posibilidades de alteraciones en la glándula tiroidea como nódulos, quistes y cáncer. En la comunidad Chisilivi, parroquia Mulliquindil, cantón Salcedo, provincia de Cotopaxi se ha evidenciado la existencia de un alto índice de problemas tiroideos, además hay una tendencia de quienes la padecen, son aquellos que laboran en el sector agrícola y utilizan o han presentado exposición a plaguicidas dentro de sus actividades. El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue establecer una relación directa de alteración tiroidea y exposición a ciertos plaguicidas llamados disruptores endocrinos. La metodología utilizada trata de un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, se correlacionó la exposición a plaguicidas con el número de alteraciones tiroideas encontradas, mediante análisis de la función tiroidea en la sangre y ecografía tiroidea. El presente estudio demostró que existen valores mayores de TSH en personas expuestas a plaguicidas que en aquellas que no han tenido contacto con los mismos, lo que revela mayor prevalencia de alteraciones tiroideas en dichas personas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abtract The indiscriminate use of pesticides has caused the appearance of diseases and ailments due to the influence that these have had on the human organism, for which there are several research projects in which the use of pesticides is related to the increase in the levels of TSH and increasing the chances of alterations in the thyroid gland such as nodules, cysts and cancer. In the Chisilivi community, Mulliquindil parish, Salcedo canton, Cotopaxi province, the existence of a high rate of thyroid problems has been evidenced, in addition there is a tendency of those who suffer from it, and they are those who work in the agricultural sector and use or have presented exposure pesticides within their activities. The main objective of this work was to establish a direct relationship between thyroid alteration and exposure to certain pesticides called endocrine disruptors. The methodology used is a descriptive cross-sectional study, the exposure to pesticides was correlated with the number of thyroid alterations found, through analysis of thyroid function in the blood and thyroid ultrasound. The present study demonstrated that there are higher TSH values &#8203;&#8203;in people exposed to pesticides than in those who have not had contact with them, which reveals a higher prevalence of thyroid disorders in these people.]]></p></abstract>
