<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2477-88502020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2477-88502020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.senescyt.gob.ec/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2477-88502020000100001&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron determinar las condiciones edáficas y estimar las necesidades hídricas del cultivo del banano (Musa acuminata, var. enano gigante) en la región del Soconusco, Chiapas, México; así como evaluar dos sistemas de riego por aspersión para ese cultivo. Para lograr esto se seleccionaron cuatro lotes de cinco hectáreas cada uno, y se colectaron una muestra de suelo por lote, y dos muestras de agua de riego. A las muestras de suelo y agua se les determinaron pH, textura (en suelo), cationes y aniones con métodos estandarizados. Se estimó la evapotranspiración potencial por el método de Thornthwaite, y la evapotranspiración real por el método de Blaney-Criddle con lo que se obtuvieron los valores mensuales de requerimiento de riego. Además, se obtuvieron los Coeficientes de Uniformidad de Christiansen (CUc), de Uniformidad de Distribución (UD) y la Eficiencia de Aplicación (Ea) bajo condiciones normales de operación. Los resultados muestran que, en general, las condiciones edáficas (suelos franco y franco limosos) para el cultivo de banana son favorables, así mismo, la calidad del agua (C1S1) es adecuada y puede ser usada en cualquier tipo de suelo. La lámina de riego fue de 1.418,9 mm anuales. Los valores de CUc y UD para riego sobre el dosel fueron de 47,7 y 26,1, respectivamente, para el riego subfoliar los rangos fueron de 54,4-67,3 y 44,6-54,4, respectivamente, lo que permite concluir que las dos modalidades de riego no están dentro de los intervalos establecidos como aceptables.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  The aims of this work were identifying the edaphic conditions and estimate the water needs of Dwarf Giant Banana crop (Musa acuminata &#8216;Enano Gigante&#8217;) in the Soconusco region, Chiapas, México; as well as to assess two different irrigation sprinkler systems. To achieve this, four lots of five hectares each were selected. And, one soil sample per lot and two irrigation water samples were collected. The pH, texture (of soil), cations, and anions in soils and water samples were analyzed using standardized methods. The potential evapotranspiration was estimated by the Thornthwaite method and the real evapotranspiration by the Blaney-Criddle method, to establish the monthly values of irrigation requirements. Besides, the Christiansen Uniformity coefficient (CUc), Distribution Uniformity (UD), and the Applied efficiency (Ea) were obtained under normal operating conditions. The results showed that, in general, the edaphic conditions (Clay loam and Silty loam) for banana cultivation were suitable. At the same, the water quality (C1S1) is suitable and can be used in any type of soil. The annual depth irrigation was 1,118.9 mm. The CUc and UC values for dosel irrigation were 47.7 and 26,1, respectively, and for subfoliar irrigation the ranges were 54.4-67.3 and 44.6-54.4, respectively. As concluision, the two irrigation sprinkler systems are not within the established ranges as suitable.]]></p></abstract>
