</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract: In this paper, an analysis of the environmental behavior at the inhabited volcanic cauldron of the Pululahua Volcano is presented. The analytics has been developed through a real-time data acquisition and processing system mounted on a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) for low-altitude flights. The system is a two-stage prototype developed using open software & hardware. The first stage of the system (air) is installed on the Drone and allows the acquisition of the environmental information (temperature, humidity and pressure) and its georeferenced data. The information is transmitted using a 2.4 GHz wireless link and processed at the ground system (second stage) to obtain isomaps for the environmental variables for altitudes up to 120 m from the takeoff location. The information acquired from the Pululahua’s caldera shows that the temperature and pressure decreases while the altitude increase, meanwhile the humidity increases accordingly to the altitude, as it was expected. From the data collected it can be seen that the temperature and humidity vary widely during the first 20 m (above the takeoff location) but they become stable after 50 m. Something quite surprising is the variation of the pressure (approximately 6 to10 hPa) at the same altitude but in different positions.
</abstract>
