Algunas de las características que influyen en la oferta y demanda de energía del sector residencial son el tipo de consumo, el ingreso de los hogares, la composición familiar, el tipo de vivienda, la zona climática de residencia, entre otras. El objetivo de esta investigación es caracterizar los agentes de consumo energético en el sector residencial del Ecuador. Para lograrlo, en este artículo se presenta una metodología que combina una encuesta nacional (en línea y puerta a puerta) con sistemas de información geográfica (SIG). La encuesta permite definir las principales motivaciones, objetivos de inversión y método de decisión de los agentes al momento de renovar o mantener tecnologías energéticas del hogar. Para esto, se ha clasificado a los agentes con base en su nivel de ingresos. Los SIG permiten localizar espacialmente a los agentes y tener una estimación sobre la población que pertenece a cada agente por el nivel de ingreso. Los resultados se presentan por nivel de ingreso para cada grupo de agentes y se geolocalizan caracterizándolos de forma espacial. Se determina los atributos cuantitativos de cada agente con el fin de ser utilizados en modelación de sistemas de energía.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The residential sector is an example of the challenges that arise when modelling the heterogeneity of the energy system to assess energy policy. Some of the characteristics that influence the supply and demand of energy in the residential sector are the type of consumption, household income, family composition, type of dwelling, the climatic zone of residence, among others. The objective of this research is to characterize the agents of energy consumption in the residential sector of Ecuador. To achieve this goal, this article presents a methodology that combines a national survey (online and door-to-door) with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The survey allows defining the main motivations, investment objectives and decision method of the agents when renewing or maintaining home energy technologies. For this, the agents have been classified based on their income level. GIS allows the agents to be spatially located and to have an estimate of the population that belongs to each agent by income level. The results are presented by income level for each group of agents and the agents are geolocated, characterizing them spatially. The quantitative attributes of each agent are determined in order to be used in energy systems modelling.]]></p></abstract>
