Thyrotoxic crisis is a rare pathology, which occurs in patients with hyperthyroidism; we present a clinical case of a 38-year-old patient with hyperthyroidism who comes for altered consciousness, fever and tachycardia, the cause of this medical emergency was related to a picture of thyrotoxic crisis, thanks to the knowledge of the medical clinic, this pathology can affect various organs by the toxic effects of excess thyroid hormones. Its diagnosis and treatment is based on clinical suspicion, using scales such as Burch and Wartofsky, in addition to thyroid hormone levels, liver function markers, cardiac, renal, electrocardiogram, thyroid ultrasound, as a complement to it. Thyroid storm has a high mortality rate and patients should receive immediate treatment to manage complications and restore normal thyroid function.
