Abstract

SAPO SANGAY, Mauro et al. Duelo y resiliencia en adultos peruanos ante la pérdida de un ser querido por el COVID-19. Rev Eug Esp [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.2, pp.46-56. ISSN 2661-6742.  https://doi.org/10.37135/ee.04.17.06.

The sudden death of loved ones destabilizes the psyche of people. This research aimed to determine the correlation between grief and resilience in Chiclayo-Peru adults affected by the loss of loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic. A non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional study was carried out, with the participation of 305 adults from the city of Chiclayo aged 18 to 82 years (49.2% men and 50.8% women). Data were collected using Texas Revised Bereavement Inventory and the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale. 44.9% were between 18 and 29, and 49.3% were single. A correlation was established with a weak to moderate intensity and inversely proportional between the dimensions of grief and resilience. Women presented a higher average of resilience than men (M=134.45).
