This research aimed to compare the age groups in each sex from the means of the values of the dimensions of the quality of sexual life evaluated in patients with type 2diabetes mellitus. They were attended in the Social Security Hospital of Santa Ana city, Manabí province, Ecuador, during 2021. 200 people participated (100 men and 100 women), whose ages ranged between 33 and 90 years. The data was collected through the following instruments: The Changes in Sexual Functioning Questionnaire in its short form and the Sexual Self-Perception Questionnaire in an adapted version. The mean scores in the dimensions desire, arousal, orgasm, and sexual satisfaction were higher in men, in which significant differences were also observed between the different age groups. In both sexes, the scores decreased with increasing age.
