Abstract
MOLINA LAHUANA, Lizbet Katia; CHUMPITAZ PANTA, Javier; ROJAS GARRIDO, Lesvy Celinda and ROMERO ECHEVARRIA, Luis Miguel. Environmental awareness competencies in university students of Peru. A didactic proposal. RCUISRAEL [online]. 2024, vol.11, n.1, pp.139-160. Epub Apr 10, 2024. ISSN 2631-2786. https://doi.org/10.35290/rcui.v11n1.2023.1125.
In a world characterized by increasingly pressing environmental challenges, the need to promote environmental awareness among new generations becomes an unavoidable priority. Therefore, the objective of this research was to propose educational strategies for the acquisition of environmental awareness competencies in Peruvian university students. The methodology used in the research was based on a qualitative and interpretative approach, following the feasible project approach. It was carried out in a university in Lima, with six teachers as key informants, using semi-structured interviews with three generative questions to obtain the necessary diagnosis. Feasibility was evaluated through a SWOT analysis. The educational proposal included three didactic units that address general, specific and professional competencies to develop environmental awareness. The conclusions highlight that these competencies not only enrich academic knowledge, but also promote the adoption of ethical values and informed decision-making for the benefit of the environment.
