Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the self-perception of digital literacy in communication and knowledge management of professors of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Educational Sciences, University of Guayaquil. For this purpose, the quantitative approach was assumed, with descriptive level, field design, non-experimental, cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 74 teachers of this Faculty, during the first period of 2023, using a questionnaire of 42 items distributed in nine dimensions. The results revealed the level of mastery of digital competencies in the areas of digital literacy and communication self-perceived by teachers, and identified how they manage knowledge among the educational community. In conclusion, these teachers have an intermediate level of digital competencies that allows them to manage digital knowledge and information, which has the potential to favorably influence the quality of higher education in Ecuador.
