LUENGO MOLERO, Dilida Anayra y CRUZ TAMAYO, María de los Ángeles. Gamification for sustainable development: strategy to bridge digital gaps and promote inclusive spaces. RCUISRAEL [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.3, pp.175-195. Epub 10-Dic-2022. ISSN 2631-2786. https://doi.org/10.35290/rcui.v9n3.2022.642.
The purpose of this research was to develop learning spaces called Nunka Yapajniamuri (Climate Change) virtual ecological games and a module based on the CoDesing EDS method, within the teacher professionalization program implemented in the Ecuadorian Amazon, which has allowed incorporating technological and linguistic competencies, thinking skills and reaffirming the ancestral knowledge of the country's peoples and nationalities. The initiative is aimed at minimizing the digital divide and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals among teachers and students. The scientific rigor was determined by the socio-critical paradigm, with a qualitative approach and the participatory action research method. The intervention strategy was supported by the Desing Thinking methodology of Brown & Wyatt (2015). Among the main results are the design of a learning module called: Gamifying for Sustainable Development, which will be incorporated in the subject Interinstitutional Functioning. In addition, as an added value, student teachers improved their digital competencies, enhanced their language skills and deepened their understanding of the environmental problems affecting the Amazon.
