GALARZA, R. O. y CUJI, C. C.. Optimal Energy Management in a Gradual and Controlled Process to Contribute to the Decarbonization of the Electricity Sector. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2022, vol.19, n.1, pp.71-84. ISSN 2602-8492. https://doi.org/10.37116/revistaenergia.v19.n1.2022.518.
The energy sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gases and pollution. It also becomes the main sector to be intervened not only environmentally but also technically. The decarbonization process of the energy-producing segment contemplates the disconnection of conventional generation systems that use fossil fuels. The process consists of the exchange of renewable generation systems capable of meeting the demand that was previously supplied by conventional sources. This research provides a perspective to find decarbonization alternatives seeking to determine an adequate process to introduce renewable generation systems. The process considers economic factors of fuel spending and the cost of implementing the photovoltaic system. This coal is achieved using simulations of the power system are to determine the optimal power dispatch. It is also employed a linear optimization model to minimize the costs on an annual basis through the optimal selection of the installed power of the renewable generation system. The simulations are performed using Matlab and PowerFactory with an IEEE 13-bar system as the test system.
