VALLEJO, Daniel; DAVILA, Ricardo; SORIA, Rafael y ORDONEZ, Freddy. Evaluation of the technical and economic potential of solar photovoltaic technology for electrical microgeneration in Quito Metropolitan District residential sector. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2020, vol.17, n.1, pp.80-91. ISSN 2602-8492. https://doi.org/10.37116/revistaenergia.v17.n1.2020.399.
The technical, economic and commercial potential of photovoltaic solar technology for residential micro power generation in the urban area of the Metropolitan District of Quito is determined. Data of interest belonging to the National Survey of Household Income and Expenses (ENIGHUR by its acronym in Spanish) was collected. The data obtained was organized at the level of the urban area of Quito and sectorized by parishes to determine their trend in terms of the variables of income, electricity consumption and urban planning within the sector analyzed. The statistical processing is performed through IBM SPSS and data extrapolation through MATLAB.
Through SAM, software specialized in simulation of photovoltaic installations, simulations were developed for rooftop photovoltaic microgeneration systems, connected to the grid and without battery. It was modeled and sized and different scenarios throughout each urban parish for further analysis.
The results obtained allowed the calculation of economic indicators such as the Net Present Value (NPV) to evaluate the technical, economic and commercial potential of the micro electric generation at the residential level.
