Abstract
BONILLA, Luis and CUBILLO, Raúl. Determination of safety limits of static angle stability in SNI from synchrophasorial measurements. Revista Técnica energía [online]. 2018, vol.15, n.1, pp.90-97. ISSN 2602-8492. https://doi.org/10.37116/revistaenergia.v15.n1.2018.327.
The power electric systems are made up of different elements that show particular dynamic behaviors, that is why each electrical system requires studies and own evaluations that allow to know its operational dynamics and to establish security indexes or limits in order to prevent total or partial collapses. This document presents a methodology to identify safe limits of angular difference in electric power system also known as static angle stability limits. For the elaboration of this work, the use of modern technological tools for monitoring and analysis of power systems is highlighted, such as the Extended Area Monitoring System (WAMS) implemented in the CENACE, and additionally, the data analysis technique is used of the iterated logarithm law to identify the normal operating band limits of the angular differences between the 230 kV bars of the National Interconnected System of Ecuador, taking as reference the 500 kV bus from the Coca Codo Sinclair substation. The identification of these limits will alert the system operator to possible problems of static angle stability and thus create an operational awareness in order to establish protection and control measures to increase the levels of security and reliability in the supply of electricity.
