Abstract

In Ecuador, the tourism sector and everything that it encompasses is one of the most affected by the Covid-19. Therefore, the objective of the work was to analyze the perception of the population about the changes caused by the pandemic, in community tourism and ancestral knowledge, in the Arajuno canton. By using qualitative methods with a gender lens, information was collected through interviews and participatory observation, the analysis and interpretation of data was carried out through discourse analysis with the help of the ATLAS ti software. The results show that women took initiative to develop and consolidate community tourism and their ancestral knowledge. This is a clear example of activities that shows interest to generate equity as well as social, economic and environmental well-being of their collective community.
