The present research work presents the analysis of the environmental risk factors of Relavera Comunitaria El Tablón in the operation phase located in the Portovelo canton, a deposit that stocks the tailings of the Zaruma Portovelo Mining District Benefit Plants. The historic tailings until July 2019 express that 1’626,853 m. of tailings have been confined. The method used is an analytical-synthetic investigation based on the cause-effect interaction to define environmental impact positive or negative in the project processes, applying the binary option incidence methodology using double-entry matrices (Leopold matrix). It is concluded that 32.70% are positive impacts, and 67.3% are negative impacts. The most negatively affected factors are air and soil quality, and the social-economic component has benefited.
