Abstract

ALVAREZ SILVA, Luis Antonio; HERRERA LOPEZ, Pablo Samuel; LANIZ VARGAS, Christopher Alcides  and  GONZALEZ ZHAGNAY, Javier Oswaldo. Teaching work stress, e-learning, and times of COVID-19. Podium [online]. 2022, n.41, pp.105-118.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2588-0969.  https://doi.org/10.31095/podium.2022.41.7.

The objective of this research is to analyze the level of work stress to which teachers from various educational centers were exposed, and who had to engage in the e-learning modality as a result of the pandemic caused by COVID- 19in the year 2020. The study design is non-experimental with a cross-sectional type and a descriptive scope. To achieve this, the Karasek test was used, the same one that measures the work stress variable and that in this exercise presented an adequate level of internal consistency (α = 0.85). The sample consisted of 272 teachers from different academic units, in whom the information was collected in peak months of the health crisis. In a conclusion, it was obtained that the adaptation to the new modality, the late hours of connectivity, the lack of strategic planning, and the negative news in general; denoted a high rate of job stress.
