JARAMILLO DOMINGUEZ, Diana Carolina  and  TENE PUCHA, Jhanet Esperanza. Exploring the Use of Educational Technology in Basic Education. Podium [online]. 2022, n.41, pp.91-104.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2588-0969.  https://doi.org/10.31095/podium.2022.41.6.

Mobile technology has been evolving rapidly. In education, it presents different advantages that require the rethinking of methodologies, modernization of instructional designs, and education standards; however, not much is known about the perception that educators have regarding the use of mobile technology, in the teaching process, nor the frequency of mobile applications (Apps) in the classroom. Hence, this study aims to investigate this perception. The population was 123 educators from 12 different schools in Loja, who participate from a survey. The results indicate that educators are aware of the existence of mobile applications and consider them essential in teaching, but do not use them.

Keywords : Mobile technology; mobile applications (App); education; learning; educator perception; educational process.
