This research analyzes the strategies of sound design in the production of the film by Sebastián Cordero's film Ratas, Ratones, Rateros (Ecuador 1999). In this sense, it determines which sound elements are used in the sound design, such as foley, music and sound environments. Likewise, the microphone techniques used during the filming of the film were analyzed, such as the use of lavalier microphones and the good position of the boom. And it was determined that there is a good use of capsules for recording direct sound from the film, obtaining the appropriate quality without auditory reflections that dirty the quality of the recording. The methodological design was qualitative and it was a descriptive study, in which the method of discourse analysis and interviews with professionals involved in sound discourse were used.
