Abstract

FINOL, Luis. Béla Tarr and the conquest of style in The Turin Horse. Ñawi [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.1, pp.119-134. ISSN 2588-0934.  https://doi.org/10.37785/nw.v8n1.a7.

One of the fundamental objectives of Béla Tarr's cinema is to raise questions about existence and time, through a unique aesthetic that draws attention to the use of cinematographic technique from a formal perspective. His latest film, The Turin Horse, is the most significant example of the Hungarian author's so-called “cosmic style”, which delves into the timeless problems of the human being.

Keywords : Béla Tarr; cosmic cinema; style; formalism; time.
