Abstract

This article analyzes and reflects on Casa Abierta, an artistic research carried out during 2021 by a group of artists from various disciplines who set out to explore the Discord social platform as a space for exchange and collaborative creations. The article describes the work processes, the challenges presented and the results obtained, in order to invite reflection on the limits and possibilities of the use of social networks in interdisciplinary artistic creation. It also problematizes the hegemonic practices and concepts of creation, authorship, dissemination and academic publication through an artistic proposal that sought to capture and demonstrate both the processes and the results of the work on an open platform. In this way, the project was part of a final work for the seminar “The experimental in artistic research” given at Universidad Nacional de Villa Maria (Córdoba, Argentina) and produced a series of works and dialogues that were shared through the social network Discord, enabling an explicit instance of alternative and multimodal writing that shares the tensions between creation, research, publishing and registration of artistic practices.
