The present study is dedicated to the analysis of the untitled video (1977) in which the artist Sonia Andrade wraps her head with a nylon thread. In view of the persistence of this gesture in the work of several other artists, we will seek to understand from the image, of Andrade’s work, as it gives this process of interiorization of violence in the bodies of women and its transformation into self-torture.
