Abstract

RODRIGUEZ SALAZAR, Luis Mauricio; OLIVER GONZALEZ, Misael Rubén  and  GARCIA TOVAR, Carlos Gerardo. . Science education in radiology: Platos´s Cave becoming in art by mean of imagination. Ñawi [online]. 2019, vol.3, n.1, pp.43-57. ISSN 2588-0934.  https://doi.org/10.37785/nw.v3n1.a2.

The main aim of our research group on epistemology of imagination in biological sciences is to change the educational process in radiology trough the role of imagination in science teaching. The framework of our proposal is Plato's Cave allegory in which one passes from looking at two-dimensional shadows to three-dimensional solid bodies, through geometry, when ascending from shadows to the light of the beautiful. This involves the realization of mental actions based on geometric thought, posing it as the materialization of the imagination expressed as art in radiological plates.

Keywords : Epistemology of imagination; Geometric imagination; Geometric think; Mental configuration; Platos´s Cave..
