Are social networks causing massive vanity awakening in society? Or is the human being that has used them to satisfy the needs for social approval through an actuated life? This article analyzes the extent to which social networks have been used as a means of creating total prosperity appearances and get social recognition, based on the Instagram Star Essena O'Neill case, young australian model who revealed the truth behind her perfect life shown through her account. Also, it is studied from the social field which factors drive people to develop a unreal public exhibition behavior. The results contribute to understanding social behavior about creating fictional lives through social networks.
