Abstract

The present article uses Jauss and Benzinger’s horizons of expectations and experiences to analyze coincidences in the representation of political figures and law enforcement agencies in Con mi corazón en Yambo and La Muerte de Jaime Roldós, in the context of documentary film theories related to the perception of reality. The text suggest that these representations, raised by a temporary and cultural detachment, respond consciously or unconscioulsy to the current political discourse which they are part of, reaffirming in this way the collective worldview that best work for that goal.
