CARDOZA, Francisca. VOCATION FOR TEACHER TRAINING AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SATISFACTION WITH THE TRAINING RECEIVED. Revista Chakiñan [online]. 2024, n.24, pp.33-52. ISSN 2550-6722. https://doi.org/10.37135/chk.002.24.02.
Teaching vocation is generally associated with academic success; the treatment, attention, and services students receive from the institution stimulate interest in this profession. The purpose of this article, which is the result of a research study, is to determine the relationship between the teaching vocation of undergraduate students and satisfaction with the training received. The study used a quantitative approach, with the survey method by means of a questionnaire that was applied to 161 students of six undergraduate courses at a normal school in the north of the Mexican Republic. The statistical results show a non-positive relationship between the two variables studied; however, other findings show that the students mainly chose their careers out of conviction, thus showing a teaching vocation. There is a significant relationship between the reason for career selection and the student-faculty relationship, which was measured by the students' perception of the support and guidance they received from their teachers. It was demonstrated that the students feel comfortable with the career chosen in the institution, which responds to their expectations. In conclusion, the participants perceive a positive formation concerning the solid and sufficient preparation to practice the profession, which provokes the desire to remain in teaching.
