Abstract
HINOSTROZA, Pamela and LIMA, Dayamy. LINK BETWEEN FAMILY FUNCTIONALITY AND STATE-TRAIT ANXIETY IN ADOLESCENTS. Revista Chakiñan [online]. 2023, n.20, pp.112-124. ISSN 2550-6722. https://doi.org/10.37135/chk.002.20.06.
The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between family functionality and state-trait anxiety in adolescents from an educational unit in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The research was carried out under a post-positivist paradigm using a quantitative approach, non-experimental cross-sectional design, with descriptive and correlational scope. The sample consisted of 218 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 selected by a non-probabilistic convenience sampling with inclusion criteria. The instruments analyzed were the Family Functioning Questionnaire (FF-SIL) and the State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaire, resulting in a predominance of moderate family functioning in 48.6% of the population and medium levels of both state-anxiety ( 45.9%) as in anxiety-trait (48.6%). In addition, a negative and significant correlation was found between family functionality and both types of anxiety, that is, anxiety-state (rs = -0.476) and anxiety-trait (rs = -0.567).
