This paper aims to evidence the impact of the process of delimitation of community lands in six communities of the Regulado de Galinha, in the district of Muanza, in Sofala province, Mozambique. It presents the practical results of the study about the land delimitation and training of the committees of natural resource management and the empowerment of the corresponding communities. In that way, this experience is evaluated in Mozambique, which is one of the mechanisms for promoting rural development in the country. This research followed the bibliographical consultation and the observation of field activity. The main result was the production of pieces of evidence of empowerment of the community institutions in the different levels and in particular, the natural resources management committees. Here is shown that the delimitation of lands in the Regulated of Galinha arises from the need to create capacities in local communities in order to carry out the sustainable management of land and other natural resources as a factor for the promotion of development and sources of income for rural families. Arguing that the delimitation of land empowers communities in spatial organization and sustainable models of natural resource management.
