This study was focused on getting to know the profile of certain cultural habits and practices of a group of university students of the second cycle of Basic Education of the National University of Education of Ecuador that has been analysed during three consecutive semesters between the 2016-2017 period. In order to achieve this goal, an instrument was elaborated in two content modules: an identification module, dedicated to certain socio-demographic characteristics of the students and other focused on cultural habits and practices. The results obtained show the consolidated existence of certain cultural habits and practices within the field of social participation and consumption linked to technological use in the face of the explicit weaknesses in the field of academic activity and in the so-called high culture.
