The paper reports findings of an investigation which had the purpose to interpret the social meanings revealed related to Instituto Universitario Tecnológico de Trujillo (IUTET)’s management action, in the stage of its transformation as Universidad Politécnica Territorial. From a paradigmatic vision based on interpretative paradigm it used the qualitative methodological perspective, specifically research design of the Hermeneutic Phenomenological Method. A group of nine (9) relevant managers stakeholders (management, teaching, administrative and student staff) participated as research subjects, performing the in-depth interview technique. The collected information was codified and categorized, between the findings are highlighted as guiding categories: need for integration of the IUTET community, centralized guidelines, reactive management, inefficient management, requirement to raise academic quality, and a new management philosophy. In conclusion, the management of a global approach, holistic and prospective, with a humanistic conception of Holistic and prospective management, should point to more open schemes, proper than organizations based on high-performance teamwork.
