A bikeway design for a tourist destination opens possibilities of new sources of economic income, in addition to knowledge and diffusion the tourist’s attractions this place has. The objectives research is to design a tourist bikeway for strengthening the tourism of Duran’s Canton. The methods applied are bibliographic, empirical and field observation; as a result was designed a tourist bikeway that has 8.05 km of route to traverse, with an average duration of 3 hours, divided into two routes of easy access, which will increase the demand of visitors, helping in addition to the diffusion of the attractions by the cycling practices and thus contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution, noise pollution and to rise the economy of the place. It is concluded, the project is viable due to the acceptance level by the citizens and the positive economic, tourist and environmental impact generated in the Duran’s city; which, without a doubt, will be a source of encouragement for more projects of this magnitude to be carried out.
