At present, science and technology are seen as basic pillars for social and economic development. From the economic point of view, due to science and technology influence the production of added value and innovation, and from the social point of view, due to in complementarity with a strategic plan in public policies in science and technology tends to generate better conditions of life and social equity. This paper aims to analyze how the interest in international cooperation in science and technology is incorporated into the documents of the corresponding organizations and how this is concretized in the design and in the implementation of activities and instruments. In order to achieve this, first of all, the notion of international cooperation, its scope, objectives and dynamics are defined. Secondly, the guidelines of international cooperation policy and the various cooperating agencies in science and technology in Argentina are described. Finally, the discussion of results and the conclusions are mentioned. Both emphasize an increase in the relevance of international cooperation and a greater participation of the state in the definition of actors, strategic areas and modalities
