Abstract: This article contributes to the knowledge of social work (TS) on water issues, considering the socio-hydric problems of the Anthropocene. It is aimed at TS students and practicing professionals and provides a general approach to contexts, theoretical approaches and methodological alternatives to understand/address socio-hydric issues. It has two main contents: 1) theories to understand the relationship between society-nature-water based on 6 thematic topics that synthesize relevant socio-hydric issues and 2) the experience of a theoretical-practical course on the application of information systems is described. geography in the socio-hydric analysis, as a good practice to assess the use of technologies and techniques aimed at looking critically at the territory. The relevance of advancing in the study of current water scenarios is concluded, from an interdisciplinary perspective, based on the recognition of the social dimension of natural disasters, eco-territorial conflicts and ecosystem problems associated with the control, use and distribution of water.
