Abstract

CHONTASI, David et al. Community-based tourism and resilience: between synergy and emerging scientific literature. ReHuSo [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.3, pp.92-111.  Epub Dec 05, 2022. ISSN 2550-6587.

The objective of the research was to determine the type of scientific contributions generated around community-based tourism and resilience in Latin America over the last ten years in order to be a contribution for recent researchers in the area of study. For this purpose, a qualitative methodological application was necessary through documentary analysis where the specialized literature was identified, reviewed and classified in a rigorous manner. The methodological application allowed delineating the results under three analysis criteria: theoretical foundations used, purpose of articulating community tourism and resilience, and use of theoretical-methodological frameworks for resilience evaluation in community tourism that demonstrate the community's adaptive capacity. The findings allow us to deduce that the link between community tourism and resilience as areas of academic and scientific interest is emerging and is gaining incidence in Latin America, especially in countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica and Ecuador.

Keywords : Community-based tourism; resilience; framework; social-ecological system; Latin America..
