Journalism in Ecuador is going through a process of adaptation due to the social phenomenon derived from the health emergency Covid-19. In 2020, multiplatform models have increased their position in the digital information market as the competition of traditional media, which have progressively migrated from television, radio and press media to digital plataforms. These new journalistic models that have driven their audiences from digital social networks may be the beginning of transmedia genres which leads to structuring new standardized concepts that organize and catalog the journalistic essence in digital formats of massive segmentation. In this text, we shall obtain a categorized list of transmedia genres in Ecuador where a first approach to their characteristics is exposed to compare them with traditional journalistic genres; on the other hand, we will begin to identify new contributions in the new multiplatform trends.
